One real project, start to finish: a beginner-friendly PERN stack course (PostgreSQL, Express, React, Node) built and deployed across 7 modules. No prior coding needed — plain JavaScript, self-paced online, and a verifiable certificate at the end.
7 modules·45 lessons·~10 hrs video·deploy to a live URL
This is what you build and deploy by the last lesson.
Why this course
Project-based, not tutorial hell
One thread the whole way through — you build and ship a single real job board, not a pile of disconnected toy demos.
Beginner-first, no TypeScript overhead
Starts at "how the web works" and uses plain JavaScript, so you learn the concepts without fighting the tooling.
Security done right
Real auth the proper way: bcrypt, server sessions, httpOnly cookies, role-based access, CSRF and XSS defenses.
You actually ship it
Finish with Docker + a live deploy on Fly.io — a real URL with SSL, not just "works on my machine".
About NextED
NextED exists because too many talented engineers struggle to break into product tech despite having the aptitude. The gap between academic learning and what companies actually need has never been wider — we're closing it, one real project at a time.
Our mission
Equip ambitious engineers with production-grade skills, real-world portfolios, and the confidence to build and deploy real projects.
The full curriculum
One project, built module by module — from your first line of HTML to a job board live on the internet. See exactly what you build, lesson by lesson.
Who's teaching
Built by senior engineers with 8+ years shipping production apps at product companies. Our team has trained 500+ students from non-IT backgrounds to land their first developer roles.
This course is everything we wish had existed when we started. Every concept earns its place by moving a real job board closer to being live — security included, not bolted on at the end.
Certificate
Complete the course and earn a digitally verifiable certificate — signed by NextED Founder and verifiable at a permanent URL you can link from your resume and LinkedIn.
And something stronger than any badge: a job board you built and deployed yourself, live on the internet.
